-The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Houston Texans in a spectacular way on Sunday. With a tie game, and time expiring, David Garrard bombed a Hail Mary pass into the endzone. It deflected off of Houston defender Glover Quin, and into the hands of Mike Thomas for the game-winning score.
– The Jaguars told reporters that the Hail Mary play was called “rebound”; tight end Marcedes Lewis would jump up and tip it up for a receiver to grab it. They don’t like to practice it during the week, because of risk of injury.
– The Cleveland Browns almost pulled off another upset on Sunday, losing to the New York Jets when Mark Sanchez connected with Santonio Holmes with just 20 seconds left in overtime. That’s back-to-back road overtime wins for the Jets, who had previously beaten the Lions.
– New head coach Jason Garrett and the Dallas Cowboys snapped their five-game losing streak on Sunday. They beat the New York Giants 33-20.
– Dez Bryant had three catches for 104 yards and a touchdown. He lost his diamond earring on the field during the game, but got it back afterward.
-The Bears defeated the slumping Minnesota Vikings yesterday, improving their record to 6-3. “We’re in first place in our division,” Bears coach Lovie Smith said. “This is November ball. The teams that really are going to compete step up and play their best ball.”
– The Buffalo Bills got their first win of the season on Sunday, improving their record to 1-8. Bills LB Reggie Torbor was thrilled about the win, saying, “We work so hard. If you’re not around, you have no idea. It’s easy to look at 0-8 and say, ‘Those guys are terrible; they don’t work hard.’ We do. I’ve been around some good teams. I know these guys work. To come up short constantly over and over, and to finally get a break. Finally, for the defense to play well. Finally, to stop the run. It’s kind of overwhelming. . . .  I have a Super Bowl ring, and this is up there.”
– Randy Moss made his debut with the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. He ended the game with only one reception. ““I think I just tried to be as much help to them as I could, just to play within the offense,” Moss said. “So I felt comfortable out there, but I don’t think that I had a very good game overall.”
– The New England Patriots came into Heinz field on Sunday night and outplayed the Pittsburgh Steelers 39-26. Tight end Rob Gronkowski had a monster game with three touchdowns on the night. New England improves to 7-2, and looks to face the Indianapolis Colts in Gillette on Sunday afternoon.
-Chiefs head coach Todd Haley didn’t shake Josh McDaniels’ hand after being routed 49-29. Instead, Haley resorted to pointing his finger at McDaniels, clearly stating how upset he was over McDaniels’ game-play calling in the midst of this blow out. Look, the Broncos have struggled all year long. It’s understandable if this team wants to rack up the points.
-The Miami Dolphins starting quarterback, Chad Pennington, went out with an injury early on Sunday. Chad Henne then took over, and followed up with an injury of his own. Tyler Thigpen finished out what would be a 29-17 win on Sunday.
