Last Week Division III week for athletics swept across the country. Division III week is a celebration that focuses on the achievements that all the division III athletes accomplish year in and year out that may not get recognized on a national scale like division II or division I athletes.
At Fitchburg State University Tyler Rost and Kyle Prudhomme had taken the time to create a professional product of videos that were featured on FSN during this past week.
These videos focused on the division III athletes we have here at Fitchburg State and “how invested our athletes are in the sports they play” Kyle had added.
“We really wanted to appreciate them and our school in a similar light for D3 week.”
The goal of these videos was to show off our athletics program to incoming, current, and past students and athletes as well as the local community.
“It’s one of those things where I don’t know what the athletics are like at other schools but I know what it’s like here.”
At Fitchburg State University there is a special type of “chemistry and friendship between the different teams.”
Throughout the videos, you will notice the term “community” being used repeatedly and that is exactly what the athletics department reflects here on campus. It shows a sense of community, “supporting each other and representing Fitchburg State in the best way possible.”
The student-athletes train day in and day out in the gym, on and off the field, the court, the ice, and the track. Not to mention these athletes are students too so they have to maintain a certain GPA and work hard in the classroom in addition. Though not many division III athletes pursue careers by playing at the professional level, they play these sports and compete in them because they love what they do. No matter what they will go on to be successful professionals while representing Fitchburg State in a different way other than athletics after college and for that, we say thank you to the athletes for all your hard work and dedication.
