The Fitchburg State women’s soccer team secured a commanding 5-0 victory over the Framingham State Rams on their senior night over at Elliot Field. The Falcons showcased great offensive skill attacking the Rams with multiple players contributing.
The Falcons started off very strong and fast looking real good off the kick. Resulted in a quick goal by the Falcons in the 8th minute of action. Sophia Moore, a junior defender, dished a beautiful pass over to her teammate junior forward Adrianna Westcott which led to a spectacular finish in the top right corner of the net. The Falcons lead 1-0 from the jump.
Game intensity stayed at an all high as the Falcons continued to up the score as well as the Rams looking to even up the match. Nine minutes pass by and the Falcons double their lead 2-0. Kendra Peretzman, a senior forward and midfielder delivered a gorgeous feed over to Junior midfielder Charlotte Meixsell. As a result finishing nicely as she tallied her first goal of the season.
Elliot Field was the place to be as Senior Night was going the Falcons way, with high spirits and enjoyment throughout the entire team. It seemed as if the fun had just begun as the lady Falcons continued to attack. Junior defender Sophia Moore blasted a shot into the upper right corner of the net also securing her first collegiate goal. Extending the lead this evening 3-0 the Falcons were feeling really confident heading into the half. The life was taken out of the lady Rams as the first half was coming to an end.
Right out of the gates the Falcons wasted no time and kept their feet on the pedal making this senior night a night to always remember. The Falcons wasted little to no time executing a nice play resulting in a 4-0 lead in the 46th minute. Peretzman executed an outstanding dish over to her teammate Westcott who finished in the right side of the net, her second goal of the match.
The match has been on the Falcons side throughout the entire match. As the lady Falcons took possession of the ball most of the second half dominating the offensive side of this match. The Falcons continued to up the score as it reached 5-0.
Sophomore forward and defender fired off an amazing pass to Peretzman who then fired a shot right past the Rams junior goalkeeper Madison Magone. As the senior creates a lifelong memory scoring a goal on her senior night making it a night to remember on Elliot Field.
With the win over the Framingham State Rams the Falcons improve to 3-11-3 overall record with a 3-3-1 record in the conference. The Falcons look to carry this outstanding momentum into their playoff match against Salem State on Wednesday night November 6, 2024.
The Rams finished the match with 10 shots with 5 shots on target, as the lady Falcons took a total of 27 shots with 15 shots on goal. The Rams tallied a total of 10 saves as the Falcons saved all 5 shots on goal. The Rams performed well executing 4 corner kicks as the Falcons one upped them shooting 5 of them.
