It’s Thursday, Game Day, but I still have an 8 a.m. class…
- Morning Routine:
I wake up at 7:40, take my vitamins, and prepare my favorite smoothie recipe: banana, frozen strawberries, protein powder, milk, and honey: the perfect fuel!
At 7:55, I head on to my class with my teammate Wolo.
By 9:00, I’m stretching and doing dynamic movements at the Rec Center to wake up my body. Then, it’s Anatomy class with my twin brother Elowan and our Aussie teammate Declan.
At 10:45, I get home, eat eggs and yogurt, then analyze our opponent’s game footage on Instat before taking a one-hour nap.
- Pre-Game Prep
After waking up, I stick to my pre-game meal ritual: pasta and chicken.
At 3:20, I arrive at the rink. We have a video session, hit the gym, and I tape my stick while getting in the zone. After our dynamic warm-up, I do my stickhandling routine before throwing on my headphones. A quick 5–10-minute meditation break helps me focus before the battle ahead.
- Game Time – Taking Down the best MSCAC Team
We’re facing Plymouth (PSU) today, the top team in the conference. Huge game.
We strike first—Milly scores, assisted by Samy and Jerems. Plymouth comes back and tie it up on a power play. The third period is intense. With seven minutes left, my twin brother Elowan buries the game-winner goal on a counterattack launched by a great pass from Habibi and Matteo.
Final score: 2-1. Beating the best team in the conference at home: unreal!
- Victory Celebration
Back in the locker room, the energy is insane. Music blasting, guys hyped ; these are the moments we live for.
What a GAME – Such a DAY!
