Weekly Sports Update

Hey Sports fans. It’s Tuesday and it’s time for sports.
Local Sports:
Men’s basketball is currently 7-3 on the season. In the past week, they faced New England College on 12/2 at home. They won this game with a final score of 78-45. Eight players had at least 7 points, Keyon Armstrong had a team high of 11 points, including a trio of three pointers. They later faced Wheaton College on the road Thursday 12/4 and won this game as well 91-74. Givaughn Johnes had a team high 20 points to go along with 8 rebounds. Anthony Mucciolo had 15 points in this game. On 12/6, the Falcons lost to WPI at home to a score of 75-61. Leonny Burgos had a team high 14 points. The Falcons now host Daniel Webster tonight at 7 pm and this will conclude the calendar schedule for 2014.
Women’s basketball is now 6-1 on the season. They beat Lasell College on the road 63-60 on Tuesday 12/2. Kristen Enright had 18 points, 7 rebounds this game for the team high. They then faced Suffolk at home and won that game 65-60 on 12/4. Enright led the team in points and rebounds, 16 points and 18 rebounds and this was a new career high for the senior. They lost their first game of the season on 12/6 to Tufts University with the final score being 88-48, while visiting Tufts. They are now done until the new year begins.
The hockey team is currently 3-6-2 on the season. They shutout Salem State while on the road on 12/4. Goals were scored by Mike Morrison (first career goal), Ryan Connolly, and James Gordon (first career goal as well). They lost a tough game to Umass Dartmouth at home on 12/6 with a final score of 6-4. The Falcons could not hold onto their 3-0 and 4-2 leads. Cameron Snyder scored two goals in the game and now has 8 on the season in 11 games to lead the team. Falcons next game is on 1/6 at Assumption College.
Professional Sports:
Bruins are now 15-12-1 overall this season thus far. They are 5th in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. They went 1-3 on this past weeks west coast road trip. They lost 3-2 to the Ducks on 12/1, shutout by the Kings 2-0 on 12/2, and were embarrassed by the Sharks on 12/4 by a final score of 7-4. This was a career high of goals allowed in a game for Tuukka Rask. They beat the Coyotes on 12/6 by a final score of 5-2. Brad Marchand had 2 goals in this game and now has 8 goals this season to lead the team. The next game for the Bruins is Thursday 12/11 vs the Blackhawks at home.
Patriots beat the Chargers 23-14 on the road on 12/7 during Sunday Night Football. They scored the last 10 points of the game. Tom Brady is now 6-0 against Philip Rivers and that includes the postseason. Brady threw for 317 and was 29-44, with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. He now has 30 touchdown passes this season and this marks his 5th career year with a 30+ touchdown season. Patriots are now 10-3 on the season and they now host the Dolphins this sunday with a 1 pm kickoff.
Celtics are now 7-11 on the season. They have won their last 3 games, beating the Pistons and Lakers at home. They beat the Pistons by a score of 109-102 on 12/3 and beat the Lakers on 12/5 by a score of 113-96. They also hosted the Wizards on 12/7 and won that game 101-93. They faced the Wizards last night on the road and lost 133-132. Tonight they take on the Hornets on the road, the Knicks on 12/12 at home, and at the 76ers on 12/15.
