Tyler Perry is a comedian, actor, producer, filmmaker, playmaker, and community activist. Tyler Perry is one of the highest paid entertainers in history. Some of his most popular work comes from the OWN where he’s produced countless series all with a different level of success. Perry is from a small town in Louisiana and rose to fame back in the early 2000s with his character “Madea” being a hit with audiences. His rapid rise to fame has allowed him to give back to 9 different charities and 12 different causes. Perry did not graduate from high school, he earned his GED and STILL is one of the most successful African American men today. The American dream is a real thing and I believe that Tyler Perry is a good example of overcoming your past to strengthen your future.

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey is an actress, talk show host, and producer. Her television show “The Oprah Winfrey Show” was incredibly successful proving to be one of the highest-rated shows of all time. Oprah was so successful with her television career that she has become of the highest paid African Americans of the 20th century, while also being North American’s very first black billionaire. With this money, she gives back to countless organizations and even fully funds some of her own. Oprah came from a very modest start early on in life and struggled with an abusive upbringing as well. She overcame adversity and is now thriving.
