Students participates in two campus yard sales

By Emily Royalty

One man's trash is another man's treasure!

The snow has melted and summer is right around the corner, which means it’s that time of year again: spring cleaning.  Luckily, FSU is offering some great ways to get rid of your unwanted treasures.
Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society is holding a yard sale fundraiser next Thursday, April 28.  They’re selling everything: books, DVDs, household goods, clothing, accessories, small appliances, or random unwanted items.
Last semester’s yard sale raised over $250.00 and provided funds to purchase club t-shirts; send members to a Shakespeare conference; and host events, including open mic nights and alumni networking events.
To donate on the day of the event, swing by the Hammond Main Lounge any time between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to drop off donations. To donate in advance, please contact Courtney Gustafson at [email protected].
If you are looking to start your summer earnings, the campus is also hosting its own annual Campus-Wide End-of-the-Year Yard Sale on Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Main Quad and 22/30 Cedar Parking Lot.
It costs $2 to rent a table.  Money raised from table rentals will go the Fitchburg State Relay for Life Team. Tables are limited on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Sign up in the Student Development Office.
Items not sold and in good condition will be donated to the Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Leominster.
