The games are on in Fitchburg State’s game room

By Samantha McManus
Are you a commuter looking for somewhere to hang out between classes? Or are you a resident student just looking for something to do? The Hammond Campus Center Game Room might be the place for you! The Game Room is located at the end of the hallway that leads down to the Commuter Café in the Hammond Building. It is open from noon to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. on Friday. It has a variety of games to play including billiards, air hockey, ping pong, and darts. There are also three Xbox’s and one Wii with a wide selection of games for both.
The Game Room is absolutely free and has become a popular spot for residents and commuters alike. In January, the Game Room received over 500 visitors. Campus organizations can also use the Game Room to hold events at no cost; fill out a reservation form in the Office of Student Development. The Game Room sponsors a number of events of its own every month! For example, March 8 there is an air hockey tournament at 7 p.m.
