NFL predictions: Week 5

The Point's sports writers expect the fired-up Jaguars to take the win on Sunday.

By Jeremy Weiner, Alex Teal and Kendell Sweeney-Thomas

Welcome back to the sports column for Week 5 NFL picks. Will the Kansas City Chiefs remain undefeated after facing one of the best quarterbacks in the league? Check out what Kendell, Alex, and Jeremy think  about it – then share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

(Record Last Week):
Jeremy: 9-5
Kendell: 7-7
Alex: 8-6

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Buffalo Bills

Jeremy: Jaguars
Kendell: Jaguars
Alex: Jaguars

Kendell: The Jags are fired up after a thrilling victory against the defending AFC champs.  I see them doing a lot of the things that were successful last week in this game against the Bills and coming out with another win.

Denver Broncos vs. Baltimore Ravens

Jeremy: Ravens
Kendell: Ravens
Alex:  Ravens

Kendell: Baltimore is simply a better team than the Broncos in every facet of the game; by that logic, the Ravens should come out of this matchup with a win at home.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Indianapolis Colts

Jeremy: Chiefs
Kendell: Chiefs
Alex: Colts

Kendell: Kansas City’s hot streak will continue through Week 5. Peyton and the Colts will be facing a record they have not seen in a while, with this loss making them 2-3 on the season.

Green Bay Packers vs. Washington Redskins

Jeremy: Redskins
Kendell: Packers
Alex: Redskins

Kendell: Washington lucked out by injuring Michael Vick early in last week’s game and escaping Philadelphia with a win, but the luck runs out come Sunday. The Packers get back to their winning ways with much of the credit going to Aaron Rodgers.

St. Louis Rams vs. Detroit Lions

Jeremy: Lions
Kendell: Rams
Alex:  Rams

Jeremy: It’s about time for the Lions to get their first win. They’ve been playing hard week in and week out. They deserve this one.

Chicago Bears vs. Carolina Panthers

Jeremy: Panthers
Kendell:  Bears
Alex: Bears

Jeremy: I went with the wildcard pick this week. Look,  Jay Cutler is out indefinitely for Sunday. This means Chicago will need to resort to the running game – ssomething they don’t have. Another ugly game for Chicago as they drop to 3-2.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Jeremy: Buccaneers
Kendell: Buccaneers
Alex: Bengals

Jeremy: The Buccs are coming fresh out of their bye week. Cincinnati couldn’t defeat the 0-3 Browns, so they’ll have some trouble with the 2-1 Buccaneers.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Cleveland Browns

Jeremy: Falcons
Kendell: Falcons
Alex: Falcons

Jeremy: Atlanta is firing on all cylinders. Look for this one to be a blowout. These guys are one of the top teams in the league right now.

New York Giants vs. Houston Texans

Jeremy: Giants
Kendell: Texans
Alex: Giants

Jeremy: The Giants looked like monsters in the Sunday-night game against Chicago. I believe the key to this game will be the game-time decision on whether Andre Johnson will start. Ahmad Bradshaw will unleash, and the Giants defense will eat up Arian Foster.

New Orleans Saints vs. Arizona Cardinals

Jeremy: Saints
Kendell: Saints
Alex: Saints

Alex: Although the Cardinals are improving, New Orleans’ offense is too much for Arizona. The Cardinals could fall to a dismal 1-4 record.

Tennessee Titans vs. Dallas Cowboys

Jeremy: Cowboys
Kendell: Cowboys
Alex: Cowboys

Alex: The Cowboys’ defense holds Vince Young and the Titans’ offense to fewer than 20 points as Romo puts up big numbers.

San Diego Chargers vs. Oakland Raiders

Jeremy: Chargers
Kendell: Chargers
Alex: Chargers

Jeremy: We get Oakland’s’ first- round pick. Keep on losing, guys.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. San Francisco 49ers

Jeremy: 49ers
Kendell: 49ers
Alex: 49ers

Alex: Even though the 49ers are 0-4, the Eagles are a wounded team. Alex Smith continues to improve as San Fran rolls over Philadelphia.

Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Jets

Jeremy: Vikings
Kendell: Vikings
Alex: Jets

Kendell: With Randy Moss coming in, we find ourselves with a whole new Vikings team ready to do some damage on the NFL.
