Spring Week is finally here and you’re probably just excited as we are! Every year, FSU’s FAB (Fitchburg Activities Board) works very hard to put on a weeklong extravaganza of events all around campus. It’s their way of giving students a moment of fun before finals and graduation kick in!
The theme for this year’s Spring Week is “All Around the World”. Spring Week is April 26th-May 1st- so don’t forget to save those dates. FAB promises that you’ll be attending some awesome performances and intense events with food, free stuff and fun galore. Here’s a bit more information on what will be taking place this week.
Sunday, April 26th – Spring Week typically starts off on a Sunday and includes an awesome trip to somewhere cool off campus. This year, FAB took students to Six Flags! Unfortunately, tickets being sold for Six Flags sold out just 4 days after going on sale. Bummer, right? No worries! This is just the beginning of the “awesomeness”!
Monday, April 27th – Day 2 of Spring Week celebrates “Merica Monday”. There will be a selfie booth and a barbecue! Boot Camp Inflatables and tie dyeing Spring Week shirts will also be given out! This will take place on the Quad at 3:30 P.M.
Day 2 will end with FSU’s very first “Merica’s Next Top Model”. You nominated your peers! Now come and see all the hard work they put in! It’s a modeling competition like you’ve never seen before. They’ll complete photo challenges ahead of time as well as challenges on stage. This will take place in Weston Auditorium at 8:00 P.M.
Tuesday, April 28th – Day 3 of Spring Week goes across the globe to celebrate “Asia Persuasion Tuesday”. Come pick up your bamboo plant, sumo wrestling inflatables while enjoying some tasty Indian and Thai food! Airbrushed hand fans will also be given out! Come experience a taste of the Orient! This will take place on the Quad at 3:30 P.M.
Day 3 will end with a hilarious two man comedy show that will surely have you clutching your stomach with laughter. Comedian duo Dave and Ethan grew up together. They’re not only life-long friends, but they also just so happen to be dating experts. They’ll be here to teach us college students a thing or two about how to have successful relationships! Fellas, bring your note taking pads! This will take place in the Falcon Hub at 8:00 P.M.
Wednesday, April 29th – Day 4 of Spring Week takes things to Europe to celebrate “Eurocentric Wednesday”. Bonjour and Bienvenidos to your very own favorite tourist attraction. There will be a mime, flamenco dancers, and a living statue coming! Also enjoy: Breakfast for Dinner! Eat all the crepes, french toast, baklava, and belgian waffles you can at the breakfast bar! This will take place in the Main Lounge at 3:30 P.M.
Day 4 will end with a sideshow of epic proportions! 3rd generation circus performer, Viktoria Grimmy, is ready to put on a show for us. Acrobatics and juggling and how many hula hoops can she handle!? This will take place in the Main Lounge at 8:00 P.M.
Thursday, April 30th – On Day 5, things get a little warm in celebration of “Treasure Island”. There will be free giveaways, inflatables, smoothies and fishies! Students will have the opportunity kick back, relax, and enjoy a Caribbean experience. Get those sunglasses ready because FAB’s got an island vibe for you! This will take place on the Quad at 3:30 P.M.
Day 5 will end with an amazing show straight from Vegas! Eric Mina is an expert in the art of hypnotization. Come and be amazed! This will take place in the Main Lounge at 9:00 P.M.
Friday, May 1st – If you didn’t know. The final day of Spring Week is the main event that everyone looks forward to…the rave! If you loved Fantazia last year, then you’ll love this year’s jungle themed rave WILD ON! Get those leopard prints ready! Tickets for Wild On are on sale now at the Information Desk in the Campus Center. Students are $5 and $15 for one guest per OneCard. The party will be held at the Recreation Center and doors open at 8:00 P.M.
If you’re a Senior like me and have less than two weeks left til’ graduation, chances are you’re going to attend every event during Spring Week. It’s a great way to hang out with friends, enjoy the warm weather, and slack off before finals. Plus, 99% of everything given away during Spring Week is free and who doesn’t love free stuff? Happy Spring Week! I hope to see you there!
