Fitchburg State University’s Athletic teams have been actively competing across various sports, showcasing determination and skill. From the field to the court, from the rink to the track – your home for all Falcon Athletics.
Men’s Basketball
On Feb. 22, 2025, the Falcons faced the Rams of Framingham State in a hard fought conference game, ultimately falling to the Rams 65-60 in the Falcon’s last game of the season. Despite the loss, Josha Jean Charles led the way for the Falcons putting up 29 points, and 9 rebounds. Kyle Philistin also contributed, putting up 13 points and 5 rebounds. The Falcons wrap up the season with a record of 5 – 20, look forward to seeing the Green and Gold back on the court next year.
Women’s Basketball
On Feb. 25, 2025, the women’s team faced the Vikings of Salem State in the MASCAC Quarterfinal, at the final buzzer the Vikings were triumphant with a score of 82-63. The Vikings jumped forwards early creating a 9-0 lead, with the counter of Rylie Harlow, who ended with 22 points, 1 rebounds, and one assist Tuesday. Stephaine Hart led the team in rebounds with 13, the Falcons had a 3 – 23 record to conclude the 2024-2025 season. The Falcons look forward to coming back and representing the school next year.
Men’s Ice Hockey
Ice hockey faced the Lancers of Worcester State in the MASCAC Quarterfinal round with a final score of 4 -1. The Falcons struck first on the powerplay from Hunter Dunn, assisted by Jack Johansen, and Matteo Orme Lynch. Later in the period, Toivo Kramer found the back of the net, from Declan Bronte and Marcus Macchioni. Alexandre Bauvais led the team in goals scoring two crucial goals to extend the Falcon’s lead. Max Macchioni was the first star of the game as he saved 33 -34 shots, shutting down the Lancers chances of coming back. The Falcons will face the Vikings of Salem State in a MASCAC Semi-finals on Saturday, Mar. 1st.
Men’s Indoor Track
The Men’s indoor track team has been making strides in their competition. On Feb. 22, 2025, Liam Bourassa placed 4th in the shot put and weight throw with a DIII New England qualifying toss. Cameron Monette placed 8th in the shot put and 3rd in the weight throw. Tyler Kwamo took top honors in the high jump, while also taking 1st in the triple jump. Christopher Adamchek stood next to teammate on the podium with a 2nd place finish in the triple jump. Alvaro Castillo-Clottier Jr. placed 5th in the 200 meter (M) run, the Falcons contributed to the success with a 3rd place finish in the 4X400M Relay. Saturday, Mar. 1st they will hope to continue the success at the D3 Indoor Meet at New Balance.
Women’s Indoor Track
Women’s indoor track competed in the Bates “Fresh: Tune Up, where Junior Skye Goba led the way for the Falcons with a 8th finish in the mile, with Taylor Crout placing 3rd in the weight toss and 5th in the shot put. Aria DiCato placed 3rd in the 600M. In the 4X400M Relay, Velez, DiCato, Goba, and Apolon placed 4th with a great time of 4:57.45. Trishannah Scott helped the Falcons in the competition with a 4th place result in the Triple Jump. The Falcons have their eyes set on the D3 Indoor Meet at New Balance on Saturday, Mar. 1st. We look forward to seeing how high our Falcons soar.
Women’s Lacrosse
The newest addition to the sports recap comes to you from the women’s lacrosse team. The Falcons opened up the season with a non-conference game against Lasell. Although the Falcons fell short in the season opener 8 -13, there were many highlight performances. Autumn Tibbetts led the team in scoring with an impressive 4 goals. Contributions from Nicole Orlowski, Abaigeal Doheny, Kiley McFadden, and Delaney Ponder all found the net once to contribute to the offensive capabilities. The Falcons will be back in action Friday, Feb. 28th in their home opener against the Deacons of UMASS Boston. We hope to see you cheering on our lacrosse team at Elliott Field at 4:00PM.
