Fitchburg’s annual Lighting of the Campus took place on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 4:30 p.m. Performances included music by Harmonic Velocity and holiday songs from Dave Binder. Artificial candles were given out to those who entered the lobby of Hammond (and subsequently collected following the event). President Lapidus spoke, wishing all those in attendance a safe and happy holiday season. Then, after a short countdown, the lobby was awash in lights from various trees and stair decorations. The event also included a “Wall Talk” from sculptor Ruth Rosner, whose work is on display in the Hammond Student Center until Dec. 14. Her art is made from plaster, wire, volcanic ash clay, and found metal.
