In the current 2018-2019 winter season, Fitchburg State junior, Angelina Marazzi, is ranked first in the MASCAC conference in scoring, as she averages 20.1 points per game. Additionally, junior co-captain, Catherine Coppinger is leading MASCAC in rebounds per game with 13.7. Junior co-captain, Emma Thomson, is ranked seventh in the conference for 3-point percentage while sophomore, Mishelle Logie trails right behind her in the eighth. As a team, the Falcons are ranked ninth in NCAA Division 3 for 3-pointers made per game, as well as fourth in total rebounds per game. The Fitchburg State Women’s Basketball team record is 5-2 overall and 0-0 in conference play. This is the best starting run the team has achieved since the 2014-2015 season when the Falcons began their season 6-1. Senior, Kerry Brodbeck, says, “When I came here as a freshman in 2015, we finished with a winless season (25-0). So as a senior, having a 5-2 start is an awesome achievement. I’m proud of my team for overcoming adversity and starting out the season so strong.”
