Always a popular event, the Fitchburg State Dance Club’s Winter Dance Show is scheduled for Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. in Weston Auditorium. There will be 28 different dance numbers, showcasing such different styles and techniques as tap, jazz, ballet, modern, lyrical, hip-hop, tecktonik and more. Fancy lights and hard-shoe Irish step dancing are just some of highlights planned.
Tickets will be on sale in advance at the Info desk or can be purchased at the door. Doors open an hour before the show.
There will also be an Uno’s fundraiser going on both of the show days. Show-goers who stop by anytime, all day long, on either Dec. 8 or 10 and bring one of the fundraiser tickets from the show programs will have 20 percent of their bill donated to the Dance Club.
In addition, 50 percent of the total dance-show ticket sales will be donated to the Pat Brody Shelter for Cats in Lunenburg, a state and federally sanctioned not-for-profit organization. All work at the Brody Shelter is done solely by volunteers and funded by donations; the shelter’s primary function is the rescue, sheltering, and adoption of stray and abandoned cats.
