On October 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. Fitchburg State University held its ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome the new changes of the Hammond Building. This event brought out people from all over town and students whom covered the entrance grounds. There were many interesting speakers including the president at Fitchburg State University. They thanked the sponsors for contributing to such a beautiful addition to the campus. After the speeches were given a dozen scissors were passed around for the ribbon cutting. Once the ribbon was cut the audience was welcomed inside Hammond for tours and delicious treats.
