One of the newest recognized organizations on campus is the Ski & Snowboard Club, which started last April. With the 2013 ski season in full swing, it is the perfect time to get involved with the group, which is, as club President Carmen Bordonaro explains, “In its infantile stage because we just started last semester and are trying to make a name for ourselves.”
Though they are in the fresh stages of the club, Bordonaro revealed what upcoming events are taking place.
“We have a trip planned for March 1st, 2nd, and 3rd; it is an overnight trip to Stowe. We have applied for $3,500, and as of now it is looking good,”she said. “If that pulls through, the trip calls for 20 members that will be taking the vans. The trip would cost between $40-$60 per person for two nights lodging, two full-day passes to Stowe, three buffet-style breakfasts, and dinner on Saturday night.” If you would like to join the Ski & Snowboard Club, contact one of the officers: Carmen Bordonaro, Mitch Clark, Tom Doyle, or Dan Plonowski. You can also “like” them on their Facebook page, “FSU Ski & Snowboard Club,” or check out the SGA Facebook page for meeting announcements. Flyers are also posted around campus with more information.
