Spotlight! Athlete of the Week: Football, Brandon Brown

Brandon Brown Head Shot

Meet Freshman quarterback – Brandon Brown. Number eight for the Falcons
Football team, Brown hails from Lake Mary, Florida, and is majoring in
Economics. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and moved to Florida when he was in the second grade. Brown graduated from Lake Mary High School with Honors in 2018, while lettering in Football, Basketball, and Track. He was a member of the Orlando Touchdown Club and The Central Florida NFL Alumni Club.
Prior to attending Fitchburg State, Brown had been enrolled in a school in Florida. A month before training camp, he decided he couldn’t go to that school and found Fitchburg State when his coaches told him to look for schools up north. He decided he wanted to continue his football career while also studying Economics.
He has been around football since before he can remember. Although he didn’t start playing football until the fifth grade, his older brothers both played and his dad was a coach. Brandon’s favorite player growing up was Michael Vick. On the field, his play on offense resembles that of Vick’s. Brown’s first football jersey was that of Michael Vick’s when he played for the Atlanta Falcons.
Even though coming up to Massachusetts it was his first time traveling, the move ignited a desire to travel for Brown. He wants to visit the west coast someday and if he gets the chance to travel internationally, he wants to go to Germany or England. One thing that people may not know about Brandon is that he is a huge fan of Country music. He developed an interest in it on his morning commute to high school when the person that he drove with every day played Country Music.
“Some of my favorite things are Canada Dry, Crocs, and females.” – Brandon Brown
Brown was named MASCAC Football Player and Rookie Of The Week in the same week after the 36-20 victory over the Mass. Maritime Buccaneers on Saturday, September 29th. The Falcons last home game of the season was against Western Connecticut State, Saturday, October 27th. They lost 32-12.
