The Game On Sports & Performance Center in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, was founded in 2018 and has since become a premier destination for athletes and sports enthusiasts. With one of Game On’s sponsors being Fitchburg State University, the facility offers numerous amenities that students can take advantage of, whether for training, recreation, or competition.
Director of Basketball and Assistant Manager, Tyler Dill, highlighted what Game On has to offer stating, “We have ten full-sized basketball courts and seven turf fields outside. We run various clinics and camps for multiple sports such as soccer and basketball.”
To maintain growth and attract visitors, Game On serves as a host site for numerous sporting events. “Our biggest focus is tournament operators, so we’re a host site for tournament operators. Various tournaments range from soccer, volleyball, basketball, jiu jitsu, wrestling, gymnastics—really all types of sports,” Dill explains.
These tournaments bring in teams and spectators from across the region, contributing to the facility’s reputation and impact on the local economy.
Since opening, Game On has consistently expanded its offerings. Most recently, the facility introduced two batting cages that Fitchburg State baseball players can access at a discounted rate. But the growth doesn’t stop there, two major projects are currently in the works: a brand-new baseball field and the addition of an on-site hotel.
Dill expressed his excitement for these future plans, “We are in the process of adding a brand new baseball field to our facility. We also plan to add a hotel which will benefit us as a tournament operator.”
The addition of a new baseball field will allow the business to grow its developing baseball program. The field will also give local Fitchburg teams access to a brand new facility.
With the hotel addition, Game On is positioning itself as a top-tier sports destination, offering teams, coaches, and families a convenient place to stay during tournaments and events. These developments will not only elevate the facility’s offerings but also contribute to the local economy by attracting more visitors to the area.
