Fitchburg's Il Forno restaurant is delizioso!

By Emily Membrinoilforno
You don’t have to travel far to enjoy a deliciously prepared, real Italian meal. Il Forno, located in Fitchburg, just off Airport Road, is unlike most other dining options in this area.
Il Forno specializes and takes pride in its authenticity and quality. Their promise to cook and serve only high quality ingredients is absolutely evident to first time and returning customers.
There is no way you will leave hungry, or without leftovers.
Upon being seated and reading the menu, you’ll be accommodated with an endless basket of mouth-watering garlic bread.
You’ll next have the option of either a restaurant-made soup or a salad, drizzled with their homemade tasty dressing just to start.
Anything you choose, whether off their regular or specials menu, will amaze you in size. Il Forno gives portions plenty big enough to split between two people, or bring home for a second and possibly third meal.
Il Forno perfects dining with their succulent meat, flavorful vegetables, perfectly cooked pastas and sauces. Their chicken cacciatore is a great example, and one of their best dishes. Their chicken cacciatore is a boneless chicken breast sautéed with mushrooms, fresh red and green peppers, onions and marinara sauce over linguine.
The unmatched quality of their food is not the only thing that makes this restaurant unique. Il Forno has a “BYOB” policy. Unless you wish to drink soft drinks or water, it’s up to you to provide the beverages for your party. Saving money on typical over-priced restaurant alcohol, and restricting your meal from the possibility of a restaurant not having your favorite beverage, this gives your dining experience more options.
Il Forno’s Italian appearance, brick-ovens, and soft Italian music playing in the background create a relaxing setting and feeling. These attributes paired with their very friendly and attentive staff makes for a wonderful night out.
Il Forno is a restaurant just as authentic as one you would find in the North End, minus the driving and pricing, and luckily for us students, it’s only ten minutes from campus.
