Do you have a formal dress in a garment bag in your closet? Are you looking to give it to someone who is in need? Consider bringing in all of your formal dresses to FAB and the Volunteer Center’s Formal Dress Drive, happening now in Hammond G16.
Molly Bower, one of the women in charge of the event, has said that the turnout has been alright so far, and they are expecting more dresses soon.
The dresses collected from FSU students and other students in the surrounding schools will be donated to Anton Cleaner’s 11th Annual Belle of the Ball event. If you would like more information on Anton Cleaner’s event, please visit their website.
The Formal Dress Drive is accepting dresses of all sizes, shapes, colors, lengths, etc– no exclusions! Just be sure that you are not bringing in dresses that have been torn, are discolored, missing zippers, or are damaged in any way.
Bower said, “The dress drive is a great way to help out high school students in the area. Formal dresses can be so expensive, and they’re usually only worn by the buyer once– so why not make someone else’s dream come true and donate to our drive?”
The last day to bring your dry-cleaned dresses is March 27th. Please consider making the prom night of a young girl’s life special with your beautiful dress!
