“I’m a doer and doers get things done.”
“What do you think your biggest accomplishment in life has been thus far?”
“Graduating, coming to college, and making my parents happy. That’s one of my biggest accomplishments, I guess so far. My parents are very supportive of me coming to college. They encouraged me to come. They always ask me how I’m doing and stuff like that. They always call me to check up on me and to see if I need anything. They’re just really good people. Not to brag, but I get really good grades and that’s a great accomplishment to me. In high school, I felt like teachers painted out college to be this evil place where you’ll lose sleep and no matter how much effort you put into your work, you’ll always miss the ‘A’ mark by an inch. College is the total opposite. Yes, you lose sleep, but it all pays off in the end. It can get stressful at times, but it’s school and school can have that effect on anybody. I know if you asked me this question next year, my answers would be completely different.”
“Why is that?”
“A lot can happen in a year which means a lot can get accomplished in a year. I want each year to come with new goals and leave with even more accomplishments. I’m a doer and doers get things done.”
“Where do you see yourself a year from now?”
“Well…a year from now I’ll be here at FSU. I’ll probably be working at the library. Hopefully I’ll be doing more with my life and doing way better than this year. I wanna make money. I don’t want to struggle paying for my tuition and stuff. I would also like to take a vacation to Jamaica next summer vacation and have fun there. I kind of want to do community service to help out the community. Where I’m from, they sweep the streets.”
“Where are you from?”
“I’m from Chelsea, MA. Yeah they sweep streets so I like doing community service like that where I can help the community out. Yeah I wanna do a lot of community service.”
“What is one good thing FSU has given you?”
“These are really good questions! So one good thing that Fitchburg State has given me is an affordable education. I have had really good professors so I’m learning A LOT and my writing skills have improved. It has given me plenty of classes so I will go into the career I want which is education. They have really good professors here at FSU…well at least that’s what I think personally. They really help out their students. They answer their e-mails. They’re really nice and whenever you need help, they’re willing to help you. They never discourage you. They never tell you that you can’t do anything. They always tell you that you can do it and that it doesn’t hurt to try. I really feel like they put in more than 110% into students with the hopes that they’ll understand what is being taught.
